Within the Medicare Fee-For-Service program, CMS employs Review Contractors (RCS) to measure, prevent, identify, and correct improper payments. CMS looks to Unissant to modernize and re-architect its Electronic Submission of Medical Documentation (esMD) system, which allows RCs and providers, through Health Information Handler (HIH) organizations to share medical documentation electronically instead of via letter of fax.
