HERNDON, VA – April 22, 2020

Unissant, Inc. has partnered with the nonprofit organization Sevatruck Foundation (https://sevatruck.org/) to serve hot meals to underserved and low-income DMV communities disproportionately affected by the pandemic. SevaTruck Foundation operates a fully licensed food truck dedicated to reducing hunger in such communities by serving hot, nutritious food to children and their families Monday through Friday.

“We are thrilled to partner with Sevatruck in our continuing efforts to serve the community through this incredibly difficult time,” said Manish Malhotra, Unissant’s CEO. “We will be serving hundreds of meals each Wednesday and will continue this partnership at least till early May.”

Sevatruck Foundation is the creation of Sonny Kakar, CEO of federal contractor Sevatec, Inc. (https://www.sevatec.com/). “Now more than ever, these communities need organizations like SevaTruck to step up when schools are closed and access to food is scarce,” said Mr. Kakar. “I am grateful to Unissant for their generosity and partnership.”

For over four years, SevaTruck has partnered with local Title 1 schools, community centers, places of worship, and other organizations who support such communities. Food and financial donations are gladly accepted; please visit https://sevatruck.org/donate/ to learn more.
