Following Unissant’s development of a strategic Enterprise Data Management road-map for NCB, Unissant was selected for a data analysis project focused on determining the reliability and quality of data emanating from a core banking system and used by multiple downstream analytical reporting systems.  Unissant is partnering with NCB’s COO, CFO, CIO, and other officers to conduct the analysis as the data and utilizing processes are a vital component of NCB’s enterprise risk and financial reporting needs. The source data being analyzed includes Deposit, Loan, and Customer data that is fed into Pricing, Profitability, and Interest Rate Risk determination processes, along with the NCB data warehouse.  The source system and the target business systems are outsourced service provider applications, while the data warehouse is an internally developed system. The analysis is focused on data quality, consistency of data manipulation, exchange and validation rules, inconsistencies with data payloads, and opportunities to consolidate overlapping data acquisition and data sourcing processes.  Deliverables will include documented data lineage, processing rules, and descriptions, data profiling metrics, a listing of prioritized issues with root cause, and a categorized list of recommended actions.  The project utilizes components of Unissant’s Enterprise Information Management framework (IM4) and our CMMI level 3 project methodology to deliver, measurable results within the allotted scheduled and budget.
