OMB has made it mandatory for all agencies to seek efficiencies and IT improvements due to declining budgets. Agency CIOs must align all IT projects to the business objectives OMB M-11-29, Fed IT Shared Services Strategy.
Unissant is meeting that challenge by incorporating training on identifying, quantifying and implementing efficiencies into each new project kick-off process. Our goal is to show customers we are in tune to agency cost pressures by providing efficiency information supporting their internal project funding requests. Unissant has been supporting major financial and tax systems for over a decade.
As a trusted adviser to a State’s Tax and Revenue Department , Unissant provided efficiency recommendations on business processes, revenue generation methods as well as updates to outdated tax codes and State statutes that hamper revenue generation. These recommendations enabled the State to add $17 million tax revenue.
For a key financial application, we revamped a weekend procedure for closing case files. This resulted in an efficiency achieved – an approximate 96% improvement.
For financial institution, performed analysis for altering the database view used to access a class of A/R cases. The change streamlines the joining of database tables to consolidate account information. These revisions resulted in an efficiency improvement reducing the queue access time for an area from 24 minutes to 12 minutes, a 50% improvement. Access time for queue data for a group dropped from 27 seconds to 16 seconds, a 41% improvement.
